Chess Club sparks friendly competition among students

While still ironing out the details, Dupalo approached the president of UNLV's chess
club, James Bayburt, to assist the students in learning chess at Trinity International
School. Dupalo's intent was to have Bayburt come out once or twice to mentor. Instead,
the doctoral candidate helped with the chess club the entire semester.

chess tournament hosted by the UNLV Chess Club.

Student Involvement Fair

UNLV's Student Involvement Fair was held February 2nd and 3rd at the Student Union
and Pida Plaza.
Over 100 student groups, community organizations, campus offices and departments
came out to answer questions and recruit new members.

A warm welcome from UNLV

In between learning about one another, these new students learned about UNLV and
its services, organizations and programs. Organizations such as the Chess Club and
Chinese Martial Arts Association had representatives present to encourage the group
to get involved.
